Democratic Alliance leader Helen Zille says she has approached various other parties in the Western Cape to discuss forming a coalition government in the province.

The DA emerged as the outright winner in the Western Cape following last week’s general elections.
 
Zille is due to be sworn in as premier next month.

Despite the fact that the party does not need to join forces with other groups, Zille says this would strengthen the provincial government.
