The Education Department said on Friday teachers may receive their Occupation Specific Dispensation (OSD) by Tuesday.

OSD involves educators being remunerated according to the number of years’ experience they have.

2009 OSD payments were meant to be deposited into teachers’ bank accounts before Christmas but the process ended up being delayed apparently due to a computer glitch.

The department’s Granville Whittle said everything should go according to plan this time.

“Over the course of this weekend we will process those payments and they should reflect in the bank accounts of teachers on 12 January,” assured Whittle.
