Eyewitness News understands there is a possibility Mandoza may not have been the one driving the car that crashed in Weltevreden Park on Sunday.

The singer is currently recovering from the accident in which a Mini Cooper he is said to have been driving smashed into a tree in the morning.

Police are questioning the owner of the vehicle as it is believed he holds much information about the events leading up to and surrounding the crash.

The vehicle owner is known as ’Bobo’ Ncube and claims Mandoza, who’s real name is Mduduzi Tshabalala, took the car without his permission.

There are many questions around just who was driving at the time of the accident. An eyewitness has been quoted as saying that Mandoza was alone, while a tow truck driver told police the singer had been found in the back seat.

Meanwhile, Mandoza, his manager and his wife are all keeping mum on the situation and cannot be reached for comment in spite of numerous attempts to get in touch with them.
