Cape Town traffic officials are considering embarking on undercover operations in a bid to effectively crack down on illegal drag racing.
Last weekend, a 63-year-old woman was killed after her vehicle was hit from behind by two speeding cars on Klipfontein Road.
Traffic services’ Merle Lourens said they were considering clandestine operations to tackle the issue.
“We may be able to go that route; however it has to via the legal offices first. Years ago we used to have those kinds of operations undercover. We are giving it some thought.”
