Nepad has kicked off its Best of Africa Project aimed at using the World Cup in South Africa to attract investment to the continent.

Chief Executive Officer Ibrahim Assane Mayaki said the five year exercise would extend well beyond the football spectacular.

Nedpad is now the fully fledged development agency for the African Union.

Mayaki said from its base in Midrand, it would use the World Cup in three months’ time to showcase the best Africa had to offer.

The Best of Africa Project will use business representatives attracted to the football festival to engage each other on increased investment, growth and opportunities in the continent.
