The PAC Youth League has welcomed ANC Secretary General Gwede Mantashe’s statement that the Sharpeville march was indeed organised by the PAC.
The Youth League threatened to injure or kill Julius Malema if he did not apologise by Wednesday for misleading the country about the Sharpeville massacre.
Malema told a gathering in Mafikeng that the Sharpeville march 50 years ago was organised by the ruling party but hijacked by the PAC.
On Tuesday Mantashe refuted this claim.
The PAC Youth League’s Pitso Mphasha said they would accept this for now.
“We wholly and unconditionally welcome the statement by Gwede Mantashe and we also urge the ANC to educate the ANC Youth League about the history of Sharpeville to avoid any more harassment.”
