The South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (SASCOC) has named the 115 athletes to represent South Africa at the 19th Commonwealth Games in New Delhi.
The better-known stars are swimmers Roland Schoeman and Natalie du Toit, cyclist Robbie Hunter and boxer Lebogang Pilane.
There was debate over the inclusion of Caster Semenya, who has yet to be named in the squad.
Track and field athletes, as well as those competing in Sevens rugby, will be announced on 25 August.
