JOHANNESBURG - The small town of Port Saint John’s in the Eastern Cape is a no-go zone following a brazen shooting between two rival taxi gangs. 

At least three people have been killed. 
 
Speaking to Eyewitness News, an eyewitness claimed that several gunmen from a rival taxi gang arrived in four vehicles and began shooting.

The incident occurred shortly after midday on Tuesday. 

An eyewitness, who wanted to remain anonymous, relayed what he witnessed. 
 
"They came and they fired towards the taxi guys who were there and they fought back and that was it." 
 
He described the vehicles the suspects arrived in. 
 
"It was a taxi, a double cab, a Polo and an Isuzu double cab as well." 
 
He said that a number of vehicles were set alight. 
 
"There are vehicles burning, there are two next to KFC and one next to the health centre." 
 
Police said that a statement would be issued in due course.
