The butchery is giving staff time off to manage the back-to-school period.

The first day of school can be emotional for parents and children but one employer is going out of his way to make it easier.
Good Hope Meat Hyper is living up to their payoff line “The butcher who cares.”
They issued a notice to customers that they would only open at 9am on 17 January to allow their staff time to take their children to school.
“Today is a special day so we decided to open a bit later.”

Ahmed says that it is important to him to show staff that they care about them and what is important.
“We are very fortunate to have a great team, it is the least we can do to show some gratitude.”

He went even further in helping his staff by buying all the stationery on the parents' lists.
