The Flash Drive's Carl Wastie interviews South African singer-songwriter Craig Lucas.
Listen Below.
In December 2023, Lucas announced his well-deserved sabbatical after a long year of performing, creating hits and completing his master's degree, unfortunately, all while losing sight of what's important to him.
Watch the interview below:
Merely one month into his sabbatical, Lucas playfully admits his short-lived break is over because, well, rent is knocking and wallets are empty, or as he puts it "used up all my money and need to pay my rent".
Jokingly, Wastie compares his time off to a Kim Kardashian marriage, to which Lucas clears things up, saying that it officially wraps up on 17 February - making it a two-month adventure.
The award-winning artist explains that he used this downtime to reflect on his career, deal with some long-buried feelings, and, of course, cook up hits that align with his journey, both professionally and personally.
To kick off the new year, Lucas will be hitting the stage at Robin Pieters' "It's a Love Thing V8 Duets" show on 17 February 2024.
