JOHANNESBURG - Eskom has implemented Stage 2 load shedding, until further notice.
This will be in effect from 4 pm on Sunday.
Eskom had briefly suspended power cuts owing to improved generation capacity.
Eskom spokesperson Daphne Mokoena said an expected increase in demand and ramped-up maintenance were behind the implementation of stage 2 load shedding.
“A total of 765MW of generation capacity is expected to return to service later tonight [Sunday] and the evening peak demand forecast for Sunday is 24 383MW."
The power utility said it would communicate should any significant changes occur.
