Looking to the quarterfinals, it will be no small feat for the teams as both teams have a major point to prove.

The Africa Cup of Nations has been full of surprises so we don’t expect any less in the next round.

The Blue Sharks are ranked 77th in the world, attending only their fourth Afcon, while Bafana Bafana is ranked 66.

South Africa has faced Cape Verde on five previous occasions – two wins, a draw, and two losses.

The teams last met in 2017 during the qualifying campaign for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

During this year’s Afcon, both teams have done exceptionally well but now that both of their underdog statuses diminished it will be about who can hold their nerve.

The Blue Sharks have remained consistent with team selection so we can expect former Manchester United forward Bebé to line up alongside goalkeeper Ryan Mendes and winger Jovane Cabral.

South Africa's entire defense is made up of Mamelodi Sundowns’ teammates.

The quarterfinal is set to take place at Stade Charles Konan Banny in Yamoussoukro.

Kicks off is on Saturday, 3 February at 10pm (SA time).

You can catch the action live on SuperSport and SABC.
