JOHANNESBURG - As political parties gear up for the delivery of their manifestos in the next few weeks, the African National Congress (ANC) claims it has fulfilled 90% of the goals it set out in 2019.

The statement was made by ANC secretary-general Fikile Mbalula at a media briefing on Thursday, where he delivered outcomes from the party's NEC meeting last weekend.

Mbalula reiterated that the party was prepared for this year's elections, and would continue to serve South Africans without corruption.

In 2019, the party made a long list of promises, among them was plans to rid the country of loadshedding, reduce unemployment, and improve the overall quality of life for all South Africans.

According to Mbalula, over 90% of those promises have been met.

Mbalula echoed the sentiments shared by ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa that there are attacks waged against the party.

But he said this would not deter the party from attempting to win the elections.
