Metrobus commuters slam strike for affecting their work and financial stability

JOHANNESBURG - Commuters at the Metrobus depot in the Johannesburg CBD say that the two days of disrupted services has taken a toll on their work and financial stability.
Johannesburg's Metrobus service is back on the road on Friday morning after its employees embarked on an illegal strike this week.

It’s understood the driver's frustration stems from the implementation of a new shift system and the declining condition of its fleet.
However, unions at the bus company denied they were on strike, saying they only wanted a list of their grievances resolved by management.
Hundreds of commuters around Johannesburg were able to get to work and school on Friday morning - as busses were seen flowing in and out of the bustling Ghandi Square depot in the inner city.
Those who were destined for work vented their frustration about the sudden disruptions and poor communication.
While services have resumed, some bus drivers who spoke to Eyewitness News said they were persistent with unresolved issues between management and employees.
