The Mount Nelson becomes pet-friendly, offering pet menus for afternoon tea - not a ruff life!
Yes, now you can wine and dine with your furry friends...
Ah, how sad it is to plan a vacation without your furry friends and have the extra life admin of booking them into a separate hotel, far away from you.
But if you're coming to Cape Town - you won't have to, thanks to the Mount Nelson Hotel.
As from a few days ago, the 125 years-old 5-star hotel announced that they are officially a pet-friendly hotel too.
Yes, you'll be able to wine, dine and sleep with your pet babies.
Let us take you through what you might experience at the Nellie with your furry friend:
You'll be able to spoil your pets with a dedicated pet menu during Afternoon Tea at The Lounge or by enjoying drinks, snacks, or a sumptuous meal at Oasis, Planet Bar, or Verandah, where special
treats are available to order for your furry companions.
At all outlets pet mats and bowls will be provided to ensure a comfortable time while dining.
For R250 per pet - your little one can enjoy the iconic Mount Nelson experience: Afternoon Tea (with you).
A delectable pet menu will be prepared just for your four-legged friend with items such as peanut butter
bone biscuits, braised pig ear and carrot, beef consommé jelly, rare roast beef and marrow.
Beyond Afternoon Tea, wet pet meals are available at R95 per portion and complimentary dry meals are available to order.
And that's just Afternoon Tea... inside your hotel room, each pet will be spoilt for choice with PAWfect amenities:
Pet-friendly rooms equipped with hand selected apparel, purchase limited-edition accessories with a food and water bowl per pet that's placed under a cork mat, a bed, a welcome card addressed to your pet with a small bag of welcome treats, a welcome drink of chilled rooibos tea and a roll of poop bags.
Each room will also be set up with a pet mini bar, charged on consumption containing water, pet treats, rooibos tea, buchu tea and green tea plus additional poop bags.
A room service pet menu will also be available with wet food options and complimentary dry options.
The hotel does give only one warning: beware of Nellie - the hotel's permanent guest and house cat.
Nellie was born on the property, he is about 15 years old and spends most of his leisure time in reception, Lord Nelson and in the Verandah spaces living in luxury and basking in sunspots as he deserves - what a purrfect life.
Since then, Nellie has captured the hearts of staff and guests, becoming much-loved celebrity in his own right.
While the hotel has not been unwelcoming to pets since it has Nellie, it has now made room for other furry babes - what a win for pet parents.
Of course, this means pets can also live their best life on vacation with their humans.
