If you recently bought No Name Smooth Peanut Butter, Eden Smooth Peanut Butter and Eden Crunch Peanut Butter from Pick n Pay, you are urged to return them to your nearest store for a full refund.

The supermarket giant has recalled these products after in-house standard testing found that they have higher than regulated levels of Aflatoxin.

According to a statement by Pick n Pay, "Aflatoxin is a naturally occurring mycotoxin, but the levels detected were higher than the regulatory threshold."

The statement went on to say that the company has engaged the National Consumer Commission and the National Department of Health, Directorate Food Control.

Products with an expiry date between now and July 2025 are affected.

Customers who want to return any of these products that do not fall within the expiry date are welcomed to do so whether the products have been opened or not, said Pick n Pay.

Pick n Pay has assured customers that all stock of these products have already been removed from their stores countrywide.
