Singer-songwriter Erin Elliot finds her voice through music

After dabbling in different creative spaces, rising Cape Town singer-songwriter Erin Elliot is now ready to fully embrace her musical talent.

She's just dropped her third single "In The Blink," a heart-pounding testament to the transformative power of love.

The new track is inspired by her own whirlwind long-distance romance with her now-husband.

With a background in design and photography, Elliot has pursued her creative passions, eventually leading her to the world of music.

Elliot's foray into music was sparked by her father, who was passionate about music.

She remembers growing up to the sounds of her father’s twelve-string guitar and mouth organs. 

Elliot admits that her musical journey got off to a slow start due to her own insecurities about what other's would think

She believes there is often a stigma around women doing multiple things and the fear of them losing credibility as a whole. 

She was forced to conquer her self-doubt. 

"I've had a few brands and businesses and I've realised that nothing's ever perfect. You take so long to start because you want everything to be perfect. The most important thing is to just start. Last year, when I decided to do music, I  decided to just start learning and growing...just do it. And now this is my third single."

The new single chronicles how she met her husband, defying the odds of distance and time.

"He was living in London at the time and we had a long distance relationship. We met each other's families in four days and fell completely in love. He came to visit and phoned me to say he's quit his job and he'll be back in Cape Town in two weeks. And we've been together ever since. So your life can change in a blink of eye."
