CAPE TOWN - The National Joint Operational and Intelligence Structure (NATJOINTS) said it was satisfied that all deployments were in place to ensure the State Of the Nation Address (SONA) takes place in a peaceful, safe, and secure environment.

SONA 2024 will be held at the Cape Town City Hall on Thursday.

Members have been meeting regularly in the build-up to the event and officials say their operational plan is in place, with all critical role players ready to execute their responsibilities.

The police's Athlenda Mathe: "It is important to emphasise that those who are not accredited or authorised to be in attendance should avoid the area around the Cape Town City Hall on Thursday.

"Any lawlessness and any form of criminality and any behaviour that contravenes the law will be dealt with accordingly. No disruptions will be allowed and tolerated by law enforcement."
