Bongani Bingwa speaks to Lindile Xoko, CEO of Primedia Broadcasting and Ncebakazi Tyalisi, a beneficiary of the initiative.

Listen to the interview in the audio below.

As part of Primedia’s commitment to upliftment and employment in our country, the company has launched a special project in partnership with Hein Wagner Academy.

Through this initiative, Primedia will help fund blind youth development and promote the employment of blind and visually impaired youth in corporate spaces.

“Even ourselves are starting with employing a couple of visually impaired graduates in the company.”
- Lindile Xoko, CEO of Primedia Broadcasting

Xoko says that the visually impaired community in the radio medium is extremely important, which is why they want to support them.

This was sparked by a users' response to the Primedia+ app, who said that it was extremely easy to navigate as a visually impaired person.

“We thought that this is really a community we need to embrace, as we always have done, more actively.”
- Lindile Xoko, CEO of Primedia Broadcasting

With the initiative, Xoko says they want to push other corporates to get involved with supporting and empowering visually impaired youth.
