'There's an energy of luck' today: An astrologer's take on Leap Day

Clarence Ford speaks to Mulekah Kabonga, a Tarot Reader and Astrologer about the significance of a leap year in astrology.

2024 is a leap year — meaning February has 29 days instead of 28. Leap year occurs every four years, and during this period, an extra day is added to the calendar.

Those born on this unique day often refer to themselves as "leap day babies" or "Leaplings" according to history... and Pisces season.

It also means that many Leaplings finally get to celebrate their birthday on their birth date this year as opposed to choosing to celebrate on the 28 February or 1 March when it's not a leap year.

So, yes... the day and year is a special one, according to the stars.

"There's a little bit of magic to today. There's an energy of luck surrounding this day astrologically."
- Mulekah Kabonga, Astrologer

According to astrology, a leap year carries significance in two areas of life: home and relationships with family and friends...

"Take a timeline of your life and monitor major life events in your personal life around a Leap Year. Check for a sequence or pattern around major life events in either your home or with friends where things changed significantly. It might be something like having to move homes or something happening with family and friends."
- Mulekah Kabonga, Astrologer
"Once you've located the pattern, you can change it, should you wish."
- Mulekah Kabonga, Astrologer

This Leap Year is also the year of the Aquarius, AKA, the year of change, transformation and technological advancement - affecting our energy...

"You might feel like it's your time now to take charge and take the lead."
- Mulekah Kabonga, Astrologer

This is also the year of a shift in masculine and feminine energy...

"There's been a change in the status quo and an inverse in energy flow with masculine and feminine roles. It could have a lot to do with it being the year of the Aquarius which is the year we are in now. Typically, the year of the Aquarius is known for energy that's against the status quo where people want to be rebels and go against the mold."
- Mulekah Kabonga, Astrologer

It's also the start of Pisces season...

"Typically, Pisces are imaginative, creative, the greatest artists and writers of our time with a mission in life to push the envelop and live on extreme scales in their life."
- Mulekah Kabonga, Astrologer

Happy Leap Year! May the stars and all the energy align for you.
