Cameron popped onto the public’s radar after publicly confronting and criticising Police Minister, Bheki Cele.

He has been vocal about the devastating crime in our country, who has been very involved in the civil rights space for 15 years.

He has now decided it is time to join a political path to further contribute to the fight against crime.

When joining the DA, he said that our country has “war-zone crime statistics” which he blames on the failures of government.

Cameron says that he knows there is great value in the work he has been doing in the civil rights space, but the team is relatively small and does not have as much reach as is needed across the country.

“There were great successes, and they will continue with that, but we need to somehow scale that.”

He adds that there needs to be a change in policy and the national status quo in order to adequately address the problems in our country.

“I am hoping that there is a way of marrying the civil rights space and the political space.”
