JOHANNESBURG - Joburg Water has refuted reports that some of its systems, with the exception of Randburg and surrounding areas, are not at an optimum performance level.
This follows the effects of yet another power outage at the Zwartkopjes Pump Station at Eikenhof, which was affected on Sunday, with Eskom technicians deployed to investigate the cause.
This comes as parts of the city are still recovering from widespread water disruptions, after the same pump station's, substation was struck by lightning earlier this month.
Joburg Water Operations Manager Gugulethu Quma explains the situation.
"We still have problems with our commando system that is supplying your Crosby, Hursthill, and Brixton. We also have Linden 1 being the highest in that supply zone as well as Linden 2, up to Kensington B."
