Showmax and Thabo Bester face-off in court over docuseries
Thabo Bester and Nandipha Magudumana want to block Showmax's ‘Tracking Thabo Bester’ crime-doc, which premieres today (15 March 2024).

Convicted murderer and rapist Thabo Bester and co-accused Nandipha Magudumana will face-off against Showmax in the Johannesburg High Court today (15 March) in an effort to block its true crime documentary.
The pair approached the court to stop the ‘Tracking Thabo Bester’ crime documentary from premiering.
The documentary is set to bring forth all the details surrounding Bester’s escape and his escapades thereafter.

Showmax says it believes that the allegations facing the pair are “incredibly serious”.
“It is essential for viewers to have the opportunity to watch the documentary and form their own informed opinions. Showmax is of the view that the attempt to stop Showmax from doing so is without any legal merit and breaches the constitutional rights of the public.”
The first episode of ‘Tracking Thabo Bester’ is meant to to stream on Showmax on 15 March 2024.
