JOHANNESBURG - Parts of Johannesburg have been hit by another blow, following a burst water pipe that has left residents without water yet again.

The areas affected include Linden, Cresta and President Park.

Joburg Water began the repairs in the early hours of Monday morning, with the work expected to conclude on Tuesday.

The utility says it has to isolate the system to repair the pipe, which will leave residents with dry taps until the repairs are done.

Joburg Water has contingency measures for the affected areas until the repairs are completed.

These areas are some of those already hardest hit by water interruptions over the last month.

It’s understood that lightning struck the Eikenhof pump station and affected supply.

Joburg Water says it will ensure that supply is restored to the affected areas as soon as possible.
