Educor crisis caused by ‘corporate greed,' lack of integrity
Several tertiary institutions are being deregistered after failing to submit annual financial statements.

Students at Damelin, CityVarsity, Lyceum College and Icesa City Campus are in a difficult position with these colleges set to close by the end of 2024.
The Department of Higher Education has cancelled the registration at these schools saying they have failed to submit annual financial statements.

This is going to have a major impact on students, who may find themselves without a place to study in 2025.
Dlanjwa says multiple students have contacted him as they have paid fees in advance, and don’t know what will happen next.
He adds that this crisis is indicative of ‘corporate greed’ that always affects the disadvantaged South Africans the most.

Botha says this is an extremely challenging situation for students but they do still have their credits for completed modules and will be able to transfer.
