Clarence Ford speaks with Mzwanele Nyhontso, leader of the Pan Africanist Congress (PAC).
Listen to the interview in the audio below.
The PAC's manifesto includes reposessing land illegally acquired by white landowners who, says Nyhontso, are also responsible for oppression.
“We must get our land back and govern it properly... These are people who are still oppressing us today, not because they are white, because they are oppressing us.”
- Mzwanele Nyhontso, leader of the PAC
The PAC, which follows an Africanist ideology, also aims to establish a socialist democratic order.
Their objectives include uniting Africans under an ‘African Nationalist' banner, and ‘overthrowing all forms of oppression'.
Nyhontso believes an African is anyone who ‘pledges their loyalty and allegiance to Africa', regardless of their race.
Anyone with dual citizenship cannot be an African, he adds.
“Anyone is an African as long as they pay their loyalty to Africa.”
- Mzwanele Nyhontso, leader of the PAC
