Remember the name Zethu Maseko.

Unlike the pop princesses of the musical world, Maseko is a rising musical artist, who is creating her own lane.

Inspired by her Southern African and UK roots, the Tottenham-born Maseko blends genres like soul, spiritual jazz, neo-soul, contemporary R&B and indie alternative music to create a unique sonic experience.

Known for her mesmerizing melodies and innovative vocal style, Maseko is inspired by her connection to nature and storytelling.

But her talents go beyond music.

Maseko is a respected fine artist and many of her works have been showcased in UK art galleries.

She was the lead singer for Rhythm Sticks and has performed at renowned venues like Jazz in The Round and The Barbican.

"Ever since I was young growing up in London, I've been exposed to a range of different genres. My influences are jazz and people like Nora Jones and Corrine Bailey-Rae. I used to be in a jazz band between the age of 13 and 16. I'm now 25 years old and releasing my first songs."

Given her multi-layered musical style and blend of genres, Maseko refuses to be boxed as an artist.

"I make what feels good for me and what resonates with who I am. So there's elements of all those genres in what I do. It's very much unique to how I'm feeling and what I want to express."

Maseko has just released 'Wonder', a collaboration with UK artist Baptiste. The pair have another release lined up in May.

"It's a kind of Lovers Rock, reggae, neo-soul type song...which we're not hearing much of. It's quite exciting, so watch this space."
