According to a recent Times Live article, Toyota has a new colour-changing paint in the works.
The article explains that the Japanese automotive manufacturer is developing paint that can change its colour in reaction to heat and light.
This idea will allow motorists to quickly change the colour of their car whenever they feel like it without needing a repaint or a vinyl wrap.
Toyota has reportedly filed a patent application for the colour-changing paint in the US.
Tucker says Toyota is not the first car manufacturer to come up with this idea.
"BMW does have a product on their electrical vehicles that also changes colour but not mass production."

Tucker believes this colour-changing paint will benefit both the consumer and the manufacturer.
"The manufacturer will save costs because they are going to be painting the vehicles all in one colour. The client has the choice at the dealership level once they have purchased the vehicle and I would suspect later on if you are not entirely happy with the vehicle colour you can change it again."

"For your used car dealers, certain colours don't sell as well as others. I wouldn't imagine everybody wants to drive a fashion pink vehicle. Once you're done with the pink car, you can trade it in and a dealer can change it to whatever the colour is that is the flavour of the month at that specific time and then sell the vehicle."

"I see this product, its applications and its uses but I'm not sure if it will be mainstream in the next five to 10 years."
