JOHANNESBURG - Minister of Sport, Arts, and Culture Zizi Kodwa is back in court to battle it out in his case against the National Professional Boxing Promoters’ Association (NPBPA).
Late in 2023, the association took the minister to the Pretoria High Court over his appointment of a new Boxing South Africa (BSA) board.
The association claimed that Kodwa did not follow due process.
The court action has seen the cancellation of some boxing tournaments, and the BSA operating without a board.
"Mr Zizi Kodwa will on Tuesday 2 April 2024 attend the court matter of the National Promoters’ Association vs Minister of Sport, Arts, and Culture and Others,” said department spokesperson Litha Mpondwana.
“Details of this court attendance are Tuesday, 2 April 2024 at 10 AM at the High Court in Pretoria."
