Musician Madala Kunene in urgent need of funds for surgery

Legendary South African jazz musician Dr Madala Kunene needs your help.

Kunene is in urgent need of funds for surgery.

The 76-year-old needs ongoing and long-term treatment for an enlarged prostate. 

His critical health issues are severely limiting his work capacity.

A Back a Buddy account has been started for Kunene called the Madala Kunene Solidarity Fund to assist him with his medical costs amounting to R185,000.

"He needs to get surgery done immediately and there will be post-surgery checkups and a variety of medications that he needs."

"Madala has been put on an 8-month waiting list for surgery which will sadly impact his concert appearances and upcoming European touring schedule. This includes a major showcase performance at WOMEX in Manchester this year which is a huge opportunity for him to earn a living and provide for his family." - reads the Back a Buddy page.

At the time of publication, the Fund was standing at R117,727.
