If you're a lover of all things rock 'n roll, then be prepared to fall into a rabbit hole of fascinating stories of rock greatest legends.

On Saturday 20 April, author Stefan Schutte, alongside Rolling Stone-rated author and Cape Talk radio personality and author, Shiloh Noone, will host "The Written Riff: Personal Encounters with the Titans of Rock."

The conversation will reveal personal stories about icons like Led Zeppelin, Leonard Cohen, Ginger Baker, INXS, Sting, and Van Morrison.

The second talk in the series is happening at 2pm at Cycling Friends in Main Road, Green Point.

"The Written Riff came about after Shiloh and I were introduced by a mutual friend. He suggested I give a copy of my book to Shiloh and we just hit it off because we share a love for rock music. So we decided to put a roadshow together where Shiloh recounts these fascinating stories he's had with these rock legends. So we're just trying to broaden the rock 'n roll footprint."
- Stefan Schutte, author

Noone is the author of 'Seekers Guide to the Rhythm of Yesteryear’, which received a 4 star Rolling Stone review.

The book covers the era of rock from the 1950's to the 1970's.

"This was the period of music I was very passionate about. During the 1970's, I spent my time overseas working in record shops. We didnt have Google that time so I used sleeve notes from LPs. The book has had 16 amendments to update new information. I decided to keep it from 1950, which was the birth of rock 'n roll  to 1979, which was the end of progressive rock and the birth of punk and the new sound."
- Shiloh Noone, Cape Talk presenter and author

Noone said the trials and tribulations of this book came much later than he thought.

"The book is factual and had some opinion. A lot of my opinions were based on the perceptions of what were the better albums. The albums I suggested were the best were given the thumbs up by the afficianados of the rock world. I felt I had some saving grace. But there's always that one person that's avant garde and that's the beauty of music...it's about choice."
