JOHANNESBURG – South Africa’s rhythmic gymnasts flew the flag high at the 18th African Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships in Rwanda on 25-26 April.
The championships saw 13 African countries compete at the Olympic Games qualifier.
Team South Africa came second overall at the African Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships in the all-around group finals for both the junior and senior groups.
Team Egypt took gold with Tunisia grabbing the bronze medal.
SA's Chade Jansen was placed 3rd in the junior all-around individual finals, with Egypt’s Alia Ahmed taking gold and Egypt’s Lina Helieka securing silver.
