CAPE TOWN - Western Cape fire crews are battling a number of fire fronts.

In the metro, firefighting efforts continue on Table Mountain.

The blaze that started high up on the mountain on Sunday jumped into Nursery Ravine overnight and is spreading towards Cecilia Forest.

There has been no threat to property.

The city's Fire and Rescue's Jermaine Carlese said they're hopeful that Tuesday's cooler weather would aid their efforts.

"The fire is still high up in the Orangekloof and Fernwood area and far away from any properties while the fire on the lower slopes of Kirstenbosch is still inaccessible. The city's fire and rescue service is doing periodic reconnaissance throughout the area and crews from the Table Mountain National Park, Working on Fire, NCC and Volunteer Wildfire Service are working tirelessly."

Meanwhile, teams in the Cape Winelands have also responded to a fire in Groendal, Franschhoek.
