Minecraft - 'the world's best-selling video game' - celebrates its 15th anniversary on 17 May 2024.

More than 300 million copies of the game, acquired by Microsoft for a 'jaw-dropping' $2.5 billion, have been sold across multiple platforms, and the game remains as popular as ever.

Mojang Studios is launching 15 new paintings, giving players more options for decorations and building their worlds.

It also released a 98-second Minecraft music video featuring Douglas Haines’s iconic song and makes subtle references to things specific to Minecraft - if you're a fan, you'll love the nostalgia.

Mojang still regularly improves and updates the game.

"Minecraft has taken over the world. It's the best selling game... It's become a cultural phenomenon. Happy birthday, Minecraft."
