CAPE TOWN - The Patriotic Alliance (PA) intensified calls for a two-state solution in Gaza as the strip continues to face unrelenting attacks by Israel.
Conflict between Israel and Hamas escalated in 2023 after the militant group launched a surprise attack on Israel.

Israel's retaliation resulted in a full-scale war, triggering long-standing tensions in the region.
The PA said it’s against the killing of the people of Palestine, as well as the people of Israel.
Despite this view, the party said it remained unapologetic about its stance on the conflict.
But the PA’s deputy president, Kenny Kunene, told Eyewitness News at the party's rally in Athlone on Saturday that the party was more focused on the needs of South Africans at home.
"We are not the ANC [African National Congress] that is trying to be the conscience of the world, yet the ANC has no conscience on the lack of water for our people.
"In Phoenix, in Hammanskraal, in all the rural areas, the ANC has never had a conscience about that, yet they are having a conscience about the people of the Middle East. So, our position is very clear."
#PatrioticAlliance Victory Rally is becoming one of the well attended rallies at Athlone Stadium. The party Deputy President, Kenny Kunene says he wants to clear the air that the party is not taking money from the businessman, Rob Hersov. He says PA is self funded. pic.twitter.com/aLpaULikYY
