The City’s Urban Mobility Directorate intends to ease congestion in various suburbs in Cape Town by converting some roads into one-ways.
The affected areas are:
- Labiance
- Claremont; Kenilworth, Rondebosch, Rondebosch East
- Vanguard Estate and Surrey Estate
- Retreat and Southfield
- Kirstenhof

The City says benefits of these road conversions are to:
- Alleviate of congestion during peak periods
- Ease entry into and exiting from the parallel on-street parking bays
- Reduce conflict between road users
- Increase parking availability.
