The Gauteng Provincial Government (GPG) is celebrating notable achievements just 100 days into its surveillance initiative.

Utilising Vumacam SafeCity cameras and advanced technology, the project has impacted combating criminal activities throughout the province, leading to an impressive intervention rate of 10.65%.

This proactive strategy has focused on apprehending suspects and intercepting vehicles involved in various criminal activities, such as theft, armed robbery, fraud, and public violence.

Entering this project, Croock notes that they held no preconceptions due to the unprecedented nature of the public/private partnership.

He says the collective commitment demonstrated in undertaking rigorous efforts to combat the crime epidemic and effect positive change has been impressive.
