Traditional ceremony reason MK 'founder' Jabulani Khumalo didn't attend manifesto launch

JOHANNESBURG - Expelled uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) member, Jabulani Khumalo, said that he did not attend the party’s manifesto launch due to a traditional ceremony at his Nkandla home.
Khumalo was noticeably absent on Saturday as the MK Party launched its first-ever manifesto at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto.
Khumalo insists he is still the leader of the party.

However, the Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) said that according to its records, Jacob Zuma is the registered party leader.
Khumalo has since alleged in court papers that his signature was forged when transferring leadership powers to Zuma.
He said there is nothing to be read from him not attending the manifesto event.
"The problem is the organisation when we were putting the date – it clashed with what I was doing, in our culture once you have cooked your mqombothi, you can’t leave your home, you have to stay."
