WATCH: 4x4 called 'Edna' breaks down as 3 friends drive from London to Cape Town

In a journey most South Africans have been following on social media, three friends (Karen, James and Spence) are driving from London to Cape Town in a 4x4 called Edna.

The trio has over 100 000 followers on TikTok and captures each part of their journey, amassing thousands of views and comments.

Videos show recaps of each day as they adventure to Cape Town, stopping in various places from camping on the roadside to enjoying bed and breakfasts at an island villa.

One video has gone viral, because on day 38 of their travels Edna sunk into a deep puddle of sludge and muddy water, stranding the adventurous trio and delaying their journey. The video was titled 'Pray for Edna'.

Thankfully, locals came to their rescue and had Edna back up and running again.

But it wasn't long after this that Edna's aircon stopped working (don't worry, it has since been repaired).

Of course, South African TikTok (and our uniquely and proudly South African sense of humour was all over this one) said 'Edna is stressing us out' since the 4x4 keeps breaking down. 

The trio is on day 44, resting at an island villa with Edna parked safe, sound and ready for the next start-up... unless something else breaks.
