Dietitian weighs in on Ozempic: ‘I’m all for making life easier’
Ozempic is a diabetes medication that is being used far and wide by people wanting to lose weight.

Ozempic was approved by the US FDA to treat type 2 diabetes in adults.
However, 1 in 8 Americans have admitted to taking Ozempic or similar drugs to lose weight.

Its use has become so common that in 2022 stocks of Ozempic dried up globally, including in South Africa.
Ozempic works by regulating blood sugar and someone using it notices a huge change in appetite, feeling fuller for longer.
It is extremely effective against insulin-resistant weight loss.
Ozempic is a Schedule 4 drug meaning it can only be prescribed by a doctor.
Forgan believes there is a place for medication like Ozempic to help people battling with their weight as long as they are prepared to make lifestyle changes with it.

She says that is a person forms healthy habits and a healthier relationship with food they can stop taking the drug and maintain a healthy body and lifestyle.
However, if they do not make changes they will have to stay on the medication for life to reap the benefits.
