DA must lead so that our children can get jobs, says supporter

JOHANNESBURG - Some Democratic Alliance (DA) supporters have weighed in on their decision to rally behind the party as it aims for the union buildings after Wednesday’s elections.
They’ve told Eyewitness News that they’ve put their faith in the party to arrest the unemployment crisis in South Africa.
The DA is hosting thousands of people at the Willowmoore Stadium in Benoni on Sunday - where it's holding its final election rally.
It’s a hive of activity at the DA’s election rally, with supporters dancing to various dance tunes.
And as they enjoy entertainment from their favourite artists, they’ve also reflected on service delivery shortfalls and governance issues plaguing their communities.

This DA voter and an Atteridgeville resident, says the African National Congress (ANC) government was given many chances to prove itself but failed to do so.
“We need the DA to lead so that our children can get jobs because we are sick and tired of corruption and ANC. Before the DA came, white people were leading. They used to arrest people for unemployment.”
Change can only come if the country is led by new leaders, said an elderly DA supporter.
“As South Africans, we are tired of empty promises. So we don’t need to vote ANC.”
Meanwhile - the stadium is almost filled with DA leader John Steenhuisen expected to address the rally.
This Atteridgeville residents tells EWN that she has turned to the DA to arrest the country’s unemployment crisis.
