NBC streaming service Peacock announced that it will pick up a new yet-to-be-titled spinoff of The Office.
The series is not a sequel nor is it centered around any of the popular on-screen characters from the former series.
The show will, however, retain the same mockumentary format all while focusing on a different kind of paper company in the Mid-West.
This means new characters and fresh comedy.
“It is going to be completely different. It’s not going to be called ‘The Office’. It seems like the working title at the moment is ‘The Paper’ and the company is set to be a dying newspaper company.”

Creators Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant will return as executive producers on the new series.
The production will begin in July, with a release date yet to be confirmed.
In 2019, NBC paid about $500 million for the exclusive rights to stream The Office on Peacock.
Viewership topped 57 billion minutes – more than any other show in 2020.
