NKANDLA - UMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party leader, Jacob Zuma, has dismissed the notion that he is being egged on by his daughter, Duduzile, to remain relevant in politics. 

Zuma spoke exclusively to Eyewitness News in a wide-ranging interview at his Nkandla home on Wednesday.

The former president laughed off claims that he was being pushed by his daughter to "correct the ANC" with the formation of his new outfit, the uMkhonto weSizwe Party. 

Zuma said his daughter, Duduzile, had nothing to do with his decision to establish the MK Party. 

"I've been in politics a long time, I have done a lot of things, including going to prison, taking my decisions. Somebody one day says: 'It is this child [Duduzile] making Zuma take all these decisions.' Shame, shame."

The 82-year-old former stateman reiterated that he could not be pushed by his daughter, given his vast political experience.
