“We became well-known because of the competition,” explains van Ster. “It also led to increased revenue and a brand refresh”.
She has since written about entrepreneurship for nurses, set to launch this year on the 6th of July. The purpose of the book is to enlighten the public on the role of nurses while also guiding fellow nurses on how to open their own practices and take their careers beyond traditional nursing roles.
Van Ster advises upcoming small businesses to take advantage of the opportunities that Nedbank Business Ignite provides. The competition goes beyond the cash prize at the end – there are plenty of resources, marketing potential and business advice from experts like Thuli Magubane, founder of Mint Fresh Advisory Services.
“It’s a great platform to learn more about your own business.” - Cleopatra van Ster
