The term ‘Noam Chomsky’ is trending on X amidst widespread but incorrect reports of his death.

Valeria Wasserman Chomsky, wife of Noam Chomsky, refuted reports on Tuesday claiming the renowned linguist and activist had passed away.
"No, it is false," she responded to an inquiry from The Associated Press.
This comes after widespread but incorrect reports of Chomsky's flooded social media.
Valeria Chomsky confirmed to AP that Chomsky, aged 95, had been hospitalised in Brazil as he continued his recovery from a stroke he had suffered a year ago.
Mainstream media houses have since taken down the false reports.
