Shihaam Philander, who has been living in Ottery for 17 years, shared some of her feelings.
"I just think it wasn't a good idea doing it during school holidays. I've got my kids and my grandkids at home, so it's kind of extra challenging getting through all of this. However, I am happy that it's easily accessible to get the water."
Debbie Willemse, from Ascott Village, is not happy about the shutdown.
"I'm livid for this inconvenience. I mean it is okay, but 72 hours? Hell no."
Other residents in the queue said that they understood the maintenance needed to be done and hope it gets done on time.
