JOHANNESBURG - The opening of Parliament has been scheduled for 18 July.

The Presidency made the announcement on Friday, saying that President Cyril Ramaphosa had called a joint sitting of the National Assembly and the National Council of Provinces (NCOP) for the occasion.

His spokesperson, Vincent Magwenya: "The president has called for the opening of Parliament to take place on Thursday, 18 July 2024, as a platform for the president to outline the priorities of the seventh administration."
