Christall Kay shares her story with Sara-Jane Makwala King on Weekend Breakfast.
Local celebrity Christall Kay is a woman who wears many hats including advocate, fashion model, singer and philanthropist.
It's as a cast member of The Real Housewives of Johannesburg however (S1-S2), that she shot to fame.
Kay's now returned to the show for The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip - South Africa.
This spinoff, currently streaming on Showmax, takes eight of South Africa’s most iconic Housewives on a luxury trip to Jamaica.
Sara-Jayne Makwala King asks Kay about her decision to come back, after her controversial first stint on the series.
The reality star says she 'had a very long journey' before going to Jamaica, after ending up in 'a very bad situation'.
"As most people know, I was beaten up on set... and yes, I had to think very deeply about returning, even though I did love the show..."
"These ladies didn't seem to like me very much; they ganged up against me, bullied me... I'm very confident and I'm a very happy-go-lucky person, but if you come for me you're going to see another side and you're probably going to get it back twice as bad."

Kay says that through all this drama and personal hurt, she had an amazing reaction from the public, and feels she helped a lot of people.
"This has been so rewarding, and why I decided to come back was very much for that reason, to show my fans... don't ever let anybody put you down, you've got to keep going."
"Don't ever give up; believe in yourself and you can do it."

While circumstances on the new show were also challenging, they had a lot of fun, she says.
"It's not like things are rosy, but having said that we had a different cast and we also had different alliances that were created which was very interesting."
"I think it really came down to having an amazing show, and it's lovely to see we're Number 1 on Showmax."
