For most people this weather is one that has you wanting to bundle up in layers and stay indoors.

However, some people will be doing the polar opposite and will be taking the skinny dip challenge at Sandy Bay on Saturday.

While Sandy Bay is known for its nude beaches, that has not always been the case.

One listener shared her story of tanning on the beach 40 years ago and getting arrested and getting a criminal record for public indecency.

“Our friend’s wife had to come bail us out.”
- CapeTalk listener Mandy

She managed to finally get her record expunged 15 years ago, and wears her arrest for nudity on Sandy Bay as a badge of honour.

For safety reasons they will probably not be going far into the water, but Pretorious says they will be getting wet, even if it is just a splash.

This weekend there is a level 4 warning for damaging waves in Cape Town so people should not risk going swimming in the ocean.

If you want to take part in the challenge, please be safe, and stick the shore.
