Ernie Els wins Kaulig Companies Championship, his 1st Major on senior tour
The golfing legend adds a senior tour Major to his four Major championship victories.
Ernie Els won the Kaulig Companies Championship on Sunday (14 July).
At Firestone Country Club's South Course, Els shot two-under 68 to finish at 10-under 270, edging South Korea's YE Yang by a shot.
The 54-year-old has won four regular major championships - the US Open in 1994 and 1997 and the British Open in 2002 and 2012.
Els has 78 wins as a professional, including two US Opens and two Open Championships, and is enshrined in the World Golf Hall of Fame.
But this was Els' first Major championship triumph on the over-50s tour.
With this victory, Els becomes the first player to get to three PGA Tour Champions victories this season, catapulting him to number one in the season-long Charles Schwab Cup standings.
